Design Trends:
In recent years there has been a trend towards minimalist and modern designs, as well as an increased focus on sustainability and eco-friendly materials. While classic looks will never go out of style and ethos behind our design choices never sway drastically here are some trends we see coming in 2023.
- Listening Rooms: Vinyl records are back in full force. Listening rooms will only grow to make use of this fun trend. This might be a full room or a dedicated corner to share a drink and host friends while playing some new music with old school sound.
- Bioliphic Designs: Natural woods, stones, and plants will be highlighted even more. Interior Designer, Jonathan Adler, said during a recent Caesarstone presentation, “Trends are an interesting concept. We live in an ‘anything goes’ era and I’m here for it…I think pine wood is having a moment, and that’s unexpected.” You heard it here, pine might have a moment.
- Sustainable Products: The push away from cheaply made short-term furniture will only continue in stronger force. A shift to items that won’t end up in a landfill in a few years is one trend we can support. Well-made furniture will be the main trend here.
- Personalization: Bright colors, warmth, and personality. This will range from textiles to expanding the current wallpaper trend.
- Texture: Plaster and Limewash. Lindye Galloway, founder and chief creative officer at Lindye Galloway Design Studio and Shop, says, “In 2022, plaster and lime wash started to make their way into design again—and I think 2023 is going to be the year it is infused deep into the design of everyone’s homes.”
- Selfcare Rooms: Meditation, Yoga, and Relaxation Rooms could take some space from traditional workout spaces.
- Honey Onyx: Uh, oh. The 80’s are back with this beautiful trend.
- Open Kitchen Shelving: The trend of moving away from built-in kitchen cabinets will only continue. Dishes are an easy item to keep organized and consistent so why not utilize this to balance a house in disarray.
- Jewel-Box Laundry Rooms: Laundry rooms will be more of a highlight with nice and shiny floors and painted areas. This is a space to show personality and vibrance.
- Decorative Corners & Stenciling: This ode to the 1930’s will help add layering to your designs or rooms.
